We are the first single-origin artisan chocolate maker from Vietnam. Before chocolate there is cocoa, ours is grown locally in small farms scattered throughout the southern provinces of Vietnam, from the low lying Mekong Delta provinces of Ben Tre and Tien Giang to the highlands of Lam Dong and Dak Lak. We source all our cocoa beans directly from small farmers who harvest the pods and process them into fermented and dried cocoa beans. We select the best beans to make our fragrant chocolate with the finest locally made cane sugar and turn them into our delicious chocolate in our Saigon chocolab. Marou is one of the very few artisanal chocolate manufacturers in the world that are creating gourmet chocolate at the place of origin, all from locally sourced ingredients, we like to think of it as the freshest chocolate in the world. Our signature taste comes from the fine flavor of the Trinitario variety of cacao tree combined with the unique qualities of the soils where the trees are grown, our job is simple yet delicate: capture the essence of this incredibly authentic taste in a single chocolate bar.
